GW Colonials for Health was formed by a group of Master of Public Health (MPH) students at The George Washington University School of Public Health & Health Services during 2013 in the fall semester. Twenty-six students were enrolled in a community organizing & advocacy class and tasked with making a difference in our communites and country in the realm of health care. We elected to make a difference for our nation's public health by advocating for the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), which was established by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

In 2014, a new group of MPH students have taken on this important cause and continue advocacy efforts to save the PPHF.
